Life is Short - Illustrated Poem

The words of this beautifully powerful poem remind us of the fragility and urgency of life; that we are all together on this journey, and that we are never alone.

Life is Short was written by 19th century Swiss philosopher and poet, Henri-Frederic Amiel. It is not known who added the final benediction (“And the blessing of God…”), but different versions of this text have been noted online.

In 2018, Kathy was commissioned to create this artwork as a gift for a NJ church rector. She carefully chose each aspect of this poem to reflect the uplifting meaning of the words. From the delicate and highly flourished text to the watercolor feather illustration, this timeless art piece reflects hope, comfort and encouragement for each of us and our world.

This giclee print is produced to the highest standard available on the market today: Acid free, heavy weight, smooth watercolor paper, using pigmented, archival inks to last a lifetime.

There are 3 sizes available for your consideration. The 8 x 10 and 11 x 14 sizes are open stock prints. The 12 x 16 size is a limited edition (100) print, and is numbered and signed by the artist, and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Frames are not included. All prints are produced in standard frame sizes, although custom framing (matting, UV glass) is always encouraged for deeper, lasting beauty.
