The Flourished Envelope

This workshop is all about envelopes as art!

Oh, the joy of receiving a beautifully designed and decorated envelope in the mail! But how is it done?

In this workshop, you will learn the skills needed to create a successful envelope design, including layout tips, setting up guidelines, interlinear spacing, centering techniques and flourished designs, using your existing calligraphy skills.  

You will learn how to determine proper scale for small writing, formal and informal etiquette for weddings, writing on dark and heavily lined envelopes, postal regulations, and other tips and tricks that calligraphers use for an optimal result. A demonstration of the (dreaded) Phantom Liner will be included.

Bring your own supplies; suggested supply list will be sent upon registration.

Level: Intermediate and up

Please note: This is not a letterforms class. A basic knowledge of calligraphy is necessary to fully benefit from this workshop.
